Shrimad Bhagavad Gita (श्रीमद्भगवदगीता, śrīmadbhagavadagītā) means "song of God".

It is popularly referred to as Gita.

A 700-verse scripture containing the essence of the Upanishads and all Darshan Shastra. It was recited by Shri Krishna to Arjun on the battlefield of Kurukshetra prior to the commencement of the Mahabharata War. It is the most well-known Hindu scripture.
